I'm Jesse Eisinger.
I'm a senior reporter for ProPublica. I've covered the financial world since 1992, reporting on corporate scandals in Latin America, Europe, and the United States. I was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting in 2011 after co-writing a series of stories on Wall Street corruption. I've been named a New America fellow for 2016 and 2017.
During my career I've written columns for The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, and my writing has appeared in publications like The Atlantic, The Washington Post, The Baffler, and Conde Nast Portfolio, where I served as the Wall Street editor. NPR and This American Life have also featured my work.
My first book, The Chickenshit Club: Why the Justice Department Fails to Prosecute Executives, comes out on July 11th from Simon & Schuster. It tells the story of how the Department of Justice lost the will and ability to prosecute corporate executives.
